Fundraiser Trail Hike with Therapy Horses
Saturday, October 24 | 1:00-3:00 PM
Join Walkabout Farm for a 2km hike on moderate, hilly trails alongside our therapy horses, with time to groom and connect. Open to youth and adults.
Proceeds support our horses and no-cost therapeutic programs. Spaces are limited - register early! Hay donations are welcome at $9 per bale.

Our trail is welcoming to young children and individuals with autism, with special protocols in place to help make the experience inclusive for everyone.

Mares & Foals Farm Fun
Spend a summer morning making memories at Walkabout Farm! Join us for Mares & Foals Farm Fun, where young children and their caregivers can enjoy meeting our horses, bunnies, and barn cats, exploring the playground, and participating in fun farm activities in both our indoor and outdoor spaces.

Special Events for GTA Community Service Charitable Agencies
Walkabout is excited to host special half-day and full-day equine experiential learning and mentorship events for community service agencies from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and Indigenous Groups Beyond Borders. Participants – including individuals experiencing homelessness, new immigrants, and disadvantaged youth – will have the opportunity to connect with nature, engage in art activities, and experience equine interactions in the stunning Haliburton Highlands.
For many participants, this will mark their very first experience outside of the city, providing a unique chance to hike alongside horses, lead them through an obstacle course, and embrace the healing power of nature. These special events aim not only to foster connections with the environment and animals but also to create a sense of community among participants, promoting emotional well-being and personal growth.
