Farm Rules

We’ve posted farm rules here and in the barn. We ask that everyone please follow them closely. In addition we ask that no one feed the horses anything without permission (every time) because doing so can be dangerous for you and our horses. No one is to be on site without property owners present. Please respect the privacy of our participants - no drop-in visitors. We are a safe space for all our guests. Thank you.

First Aid Kit and EpiPen located in the Comfort Station

  • Absolutely no smoking/no littering on the premises.

  • Participants must be closely supervised by a parent/caregiver/PSW. No drop-offs.

  • Participants and guests may need to be touched for safety or harm reduction purposes. In the event of an emergency and to prevent injury, physical contact may be unavoidable.

  • Keep gates closed, a loose horse is a dangerous horse.

  • Teasing, taunting, harassing, or purposely annoying, scaring, chasing, or irritating the animals at the farm is strictly prohibited. Treat all animals with respect. Anyone not being kind will be removed from them.

  • Do not go into fields, barns, or stalls without a staff member.

  • Family members and guests must stay in designated areas only while sessions are in progress. If you wish to go anywhere other than designated visitor areas, please check with a staff member first.

  • Everyone must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the environment, open toe shoes are dangerous and not authorized.

  • Do not give the animals any food without permission, excessive treats make the horses pushy and food fixated. Fingers are not food, but horses have a difficult time distinguishing the difference. If you choose to hand feed, you do so at your own risk.

  • Horses frequently sleep standing up. Announce your presence before approaching while also avoiding their rear end.

  • Please allow our staff to conduct sessions without interruption. When the session is taking place, give the participants and staff room to work and without distraction. Please keep conversations quiet.

  • There is an outhouse available for use, there is a garbage can provided, absolutely no garbage in the toilet.
