Support Walkabout Today

Every donation helps provide life-changing sessions, innovative programs, and the daily care our therapy horses need.

As a community-driven charity, we rely on the generosity of people like you. And the difference you make is easy to see - reflected in the smiles, confidence, and joy of our participants.

Together, we can keep healing, growth, and connection thriving here at Walkabout Farm.

The John Martin Memorial Scholarship

The John Martin Memorial Scholarship was established to honor a truly gentle man with a big personality who cared about people and sharing his love for the natural world with others. Sadly, John passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on September 10, 2017 at the age of 69. His unwavering support and encouragement of his daughter (Walkabout’s founder, Jennifer Semach), inspired a memorial scholarship created in his honor.

Sponsor a Horse

Caring for the horses takes a village, and our village is mighty!

You can sponsor a horse in their annual care ($5,000 for each horse per year). This includes feed, veterinary care, hoof trimming and medication.

We have a credit account in place at both the Minden Mercantile & Feed, and Pet Tyme Animal Krackers, for donations of grain & feed, bedding and farm supplies.

Hay Drive

Winter is coming, and our herd is counting on us. This year, we need 700 bales of hay to keep our therapy horses healthy, happy, and ready to bring comfort and healing all season long.

But with a dry summer leaving us only one cut of hay—and prices that have doubled—our challenge is bigger than ever. We need to raise $9,000 to fill the hayloft and feed the herd through the winter.

💛 Every $12 = 1 bale of hay = 1 happy horse.

Your support makes all the difference. Together, we can make sure our horses are cared for, so they can continue caring for our community.
